Wildflowers

I drove up Little Cottonwood Canyon three times during the last week of July/ first week of August.  The wildflowers were amazing.  At times like that, I wish I had more skills with the camera.  The scenery up there is a photographer’s dream.  Here are a couple of my favorites.

Momma A & Grandpa

I’m still playing catch up here.  Momma A & Grandpa were here at the end of July.  Here are just a couple photos from our time together.  I’m going to try to keep these entries brief so I can get us to what’s going on currently.   We’ll see how that goes.  :)

Ellie’s first haircut

Ellie has crazy hair.  We joke about birds living in the nest on the back of her head.  So we took her to get her first real haircut.  Surprisingly, she sat perfectly still, watching Elmo, while the girl cut her hair.

Ellie is 2!

July 7 was Ellie’s second birthday.  Where did the time go?  All parents warn that time goes by so quickly, and I am starting to understand what they mean.

I would love to see what goes on in the head of a two-year-old.  Ellie surprises us all the time with her vocabulary, her associations, her observations, and her sense of humor.  It is amazing how well you can communicate with someone who doesn’t speak in full sentences.  “Cheese Ellie.”  “Swing Ellie.”  Her sentences continue to grow, and she has even gone as far as, “Good girl Harper lie down.”  She is a really mild mannered little girl and a pleasure to be with (usually).  She has already become great buddies with her little brother and I look forward to them entertaining each other for many years to come.

The first two photos were taken on her birthday.  She loves lounging on the hammock.  “Hammock Ellie.”
