Road Trip

At the end of May, we set off on our first family road trip.  I must admit that I had some anxiety about the whole thing.  We were going to be gone for 8 nights–2 nights in 4 different locations.  As a mom, I was thinking about what a pain it will be to pack and unpack baby stuff every 2 days, not to mention my anxiety about the car ride itself.  I am happy and a little surprised to say that everything went extremely well.  Jack and Ellie were champs!  We were nervous when Ellie proclaimed, “All done trip,” during our first hour of driving.  We couldn’t help but laugh out loud, which Ellie found amusing, and it became the joke of the week.  Luckily the drive was beautiful.  Ellie was constantly entertained by the cows, sheep, horses, birds, rivers, etc.  She pointed out every single one of them.  We drove from SLC to Durango, then stayed with family outside of Chama, NM, then on to Santa Fe, and finally Telluride.  Jonny’s parents met us at cousin Amie’s house, and joined us in Santa Fe.  The kids loved spending time with them, and we were happy to have some extra helping hands.  :)  All in all, it was a great trip.  We can’t wait to hit the open road again.

Career change

Ellie is thinking about yet another career change.  This time she is learning how to give pedicures.  I think she’ll be really good at it…once she turns the clippers the right way.

Baby Boys!

May 5

Jack had some of his friends over to play.  Sam, Will, Wilkes, and Jack were all born within 2 months.   Jack is super excited to already have a whole group of friends.

(When Jack’s friend, Lucy, gets back to Utah there may be some commotion about who gets to be her boyfriend).

Nic, Looley, Tosa

I am way behind the times.  I swear I could have a full time job organizing, editing, printing, and sharing all the photos I have taken.

This little slide show contains pictures from early May when Grandma Nic, Aunt Looley, and Aunt Thomasa came to visit us.  Ellie dropped the “Grandma” and just calls my mom “Nic.”  Claire’s nickname was Loo Loo, which has morphed into Looley…or as Ellie says, “Woo Wee.”  Aunt Thomasa simply goes by “Tosa.”  As always, we loved having them here.  Enjoy the photos.

Cute family pics

We went up to Snowbird (almost a month ago) to watch a ski jumping competition.  Here are some photos from our family outing.

Happy very belated Easter

Jack’s first Easter.  He wasn’t sure what to do make of his bunny bag/Easter basket.  (Thanks Grandma Nic).

Ellie’s friend, Jasper, came over to hang out on the swing set with her.  Fun times!

New horizons

These photos were taken on April 4… the day Jack tried rice cereal for the first time.  As you can see, he wasn’t too sure about this new delicacy at first, but I am happy to report that he enjoys eating it now.

That’s our dad

A few items had fallen behind the washing machine, so JA set out to retrieve them.  Go Dad!

Grandma comes to visit

We were really excited to have Grandma A visit at the beginning of this month.  She thanks us for letting her visit, but having an extra set of hands around here is always welcome.  She and Grandpa will come back when the weather warms up so we can put Grandpa to work.  We are looking forward to seeing them both sometime soon!
